Lane restrictions on eastbound U.S. 6 in Council Bluffs begin Feb. 14

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Feb. 9, 2011 – Bridge construction work requires closure of the outside lane of eastbound U.S. 6 between Eighth and 16th streets in Council Bluffs weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, Feb. 14, until Monday, Feb. 28, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Council Bluffs construction office.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
