Northbound I-29 to be closed briefly at Missouri Valley Thursday, Feb. 24

AMES, Iowa – Feb. 18, 2011 – The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is reporting that work on the snow gate on Interstate 29 at exit 75 (U.S. 30) near Missouri Valley will require the complete closure of the northbound lanes Thursday, Feb. 24, beginning at 11 a.m., weather permitting. The closure should last no more than one hour.

I-29 traffic will be rerouted using the entrance and exit ramps at exit 75. Brief delays can be expected.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
