Iowa Transportation Commission approves additional highway work

AMES, Iowa – Feb. 8, 2011 – Today, at their meeting in Ames, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved an amendment to the 2011-2015 Iowa Transportation Improvement Program (Program) that will advance the letting of some highway projects into fiscal year (FY) 2011 and add others to the program. Iowa Transportation Commission schedules public input meetings

AMES, Iowa – Feb. 8, 2011 – The Iowa Transportation Commission will conduct four public input meetings around the state during 2011. The meetings will give Iowans opportunities to present ideas and comments directly to the commissioners concerning transportation policies and programs, without traveling to Ames. At the height of the storm on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, portions of nearly 50 Iowa highways had been closed by the recent winter storm.
