Iowa DOT small equipment auction April 9
AMES, Iowa – March 24, 2011 – A public auction of small equipment and miscellaneous items will be held by the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) on its grounds in Ames Saturday, April 9, beginning at 9 a.m. Equipment for offices and shops, automotive supplies and many other items are included in the sale which will be held in the auction building south of the Iowa DOT's sign shop on South Fourth Street.
Office equipment to be sold includes copiers, facsimile machines, file cabinets, shelving units, tables, desks, and chairs. Included in the shop equipment are generators, mowers, toolboxes and chests, and cabinets.
Automotive supplies in the sale include radios, jacks, light bars, and battery chargers.
Also included in the sale are several survey stations, GPS equipment, digital and video cameras, projectors, projection systems, and much more. This is a very large auction with many boxes of miscellaneous office supplies and shop equipment items too numerous to list.
Sale items may be inspected at the sale site from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 8, and from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday, April 9. Payment for the items must be made the day of the sale by cash, cashier's check or certified check. Personal or company checks will be accepted if accompanied by satisfactory identification. Items may be removed from the Iowa DOT grounds after full payment has been made and the buyer has a receipt for their purchases. All items purchased must be removed by 3 p.m., Friday, April 15.
Sales tax will be collected. Dealers must provide tax-exemption numbers to be exempted from the tax. Prospective bidders who have permanent bid numbers are asked to bring those numbers to the auction.
Lynch Auction Co. of Boone will conduct the auction. Coffee, sandwiches and cold drinks will be available at the auction site.
