CHARITON, Iowa – March 24, 2011 – Road construction work on northbound Interstate 35 between exit 36 (Iowa 152 and Clarke County Road R-35) and exit 43 (Clarke County Road G-76) north of Osceola will restrict traffic to one lane beginning Monday, March 28, until Friday, May 20, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Chariton construction office.
Also, a 13-foot width lane restriction will be in place.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
