I-35 lane closures scheduled near Ames

DES MOINES, Iowa – April 28, 2011 – Scheduled barrier rail work in the median on Interstate 35 near Ames will cause lane closures, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Des Moines construction office.

Lane closures between exit 111 (U.S. 30) and exit 113 (13th Street) will be from 8:15 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. as listed below.

    Southbound I-35
        Friday, April 29: right lane
        Tuesday, May 3: left lane

    Northbound I-35
        Monday, May 2: left lane

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
