Iowa DOT News Release

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – April 29, 2011 – Bridge maintenance work will cause the left  southbound lane of Interstate 29 to be closed between exit 82 (Harrison County Road F-50) near Modale and exit 89 (Iowa 127) near Mondamin beginning Tuesday, May 3 weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Council Bluffs office. 

The bridge painting project is expected to be completed by early June.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
