Bridge construction work on U.S. 63 near Denver Tuesday and Wednesday
NEW HAMTON, Iowa – May 26, 2011 – Bridge construction work will restrict U.S. 63 in Bremer County to one lane Tuesday, May 31, and Wednesday, June 1, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) New Hampton construction office.
The bridge project on U.S. 63 at the intersection with Iowa 3 will cause one lane of traffic to be intermittently closed. Flaggers will assist traffic through the work area.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
