Iowa 9 in Waukon to close Monday morning for Memorial Day parade

AMES, Iowa – May 26, 2010 – Iowa 9 in Waukon will be closed between Second Avenue NW and Seventh Avenue SE Monday, May 30 beginning at approximately 9:30 a.m. for a Memorial Day parade, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) District 2 office. Motorists will be directed to a detour during the closure.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
