Lane restrictions on Iowa 14 at U.S. 34 in Chariton in effect until late August

CHARITON, Iowa – July 28, 2011 – Bridge construction work on Iowa 14 at U.S. 34 in Chariton will require a 10-foot-6-inch lane width restriction until late August, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Chariton construction office.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
