Iowa DOT News Release

Lane restrictions on I-35 in Clarke and Decatur counties begin today

Posted on: August 29, 2011

CHARITON, Iowa – Aug. 29, 2011 – Concrete patching work will cause traffic to be restricted to one lane in both directions of Interstate 35 between Clarke County Road H-45 (exit 29) near Van Wert and Decatur County roads J-20 and R-34 (exit 18) beginning Monday, Aug. 29, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Chariton construction office.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-September.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
