Lane restrictions on Iowa 2 in Page County begin Sept. 6

Posted on: August 29, 2011

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Aug. 29, 2011 – Road construction work will cause single line traffic in alternating directions on Iowa 2 between U.S. 59 and Page County Road M-32 near Shenandoah beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Council Bluffs construction office.

A pilot car will be used to control traffic during the closure. The roadway will return to normal traffic patterns when workers are not present. Short delays are possible.

This project is expected to be completed by Oct. 6.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
