Proposed bridge repair on U.S. 218 near Floyd to be discussed Feb. 9


AMES, Iowa – Jan. 27, 2012 – The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) will hold a public information meeting Thursday, Feb. 9, to discuss the proposed bridge repair on U.S. 218, 0.4 mile south of the Mitchell County line.

The public is invited to attend the meeting anytime between 5 and 6:30 p.m. at the Floyd Community Center, 706 Fairfield St.

This public information meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format. Iowa DOT staff will be present to informally discuss the proposed improvement. No formal presentation will be made.

Traffic on U.S. 218 would be detoured during construction using U.S. 18, Floyd/Mitchell County Road T-38 and U.S. 218/Iowa 9 in Mitchell County.
