Lane restrictions scheduled on I-280 in Davenport starting April 30
DAVENPORT, Iowa – April 26, 2012 – Concrete pavement work on eastbound Interstate 280 between U.S. 6 (exit 1) and the Mississippi River bridge in Davenport will require motorists to share the roadway with opposing traffic on westbound I-280 starting at 7 a.m. Monday, April 30, until mid-November, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office. A 12-foot width lane restriction will be in place in the open lanes during construction.
The eastbound I-280 exit ramp at Iowa 22/Rockingham Road (exit 8) will be closed starting Tuesday, May 1, until Tuesday, May 22. Motorists should follow the marked detour.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
