UPDATE - Additional ramp closure on southbound I-380 near Raymond rescheduled to May 31

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – May 30, 2012 – Road construction work requiring the closure of the Interstate 380 exit ramp at the east interchange of southbound I-380/U.S. 20 (exit 65) near Raymond scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, until mid-morning Friday, June 1, due to an unfavorable weather forecast, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's New Hampton construction office.

During this closure, traffic will be routed on U.S. 20 east to South Canfield Road (exit 240), and then back west to the southbound I-380 ramp. There will be static and electronic message signs in place to direct traffic in this area.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.

The Iowa DOT has developed a website at www.iowadot.gov/i380/ to provide ongoing information related to the I-380 revitalization project. The site includes project details, corridor facts, a project timeline, emergency detour routes, and photos of the project area and construction activities. Information about the I-380 project is also available on Facebook at www.facebook.com/IowaDOTI380.
