Iowa Transportation Commission approves grant for Boone County
AMES, Iowa – Sept. 11, 2012 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Immediate Opportunity grant application submitted by Boone County. Up to $250,000 will be made available to assist in reconstruction of approximately 1,500 feet of E Avenue south of U.S. 30 located southwest of Ogden. This project is anticipated to be completed by August 2013.
This improvement is necessary to provide access to the site of AgReliant Genetics, LLC’s seed corn production, conditioning and distribution facility.
The project will support the creation of 25 new jobs at this facility and more than $36 million in associated capital investment.
Funding for the grant comes from the county share of the RISE Fund.
