Proposed bridge replacement on Iowa 98 over the Des Moines River in Van Buren County to be discussed Sept. 18 in Douds


AMES, Iowa – Sept. 6, 2012 – The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting Tuesday, Sept. 18, to discuss the proposed bridge replacement on Iowa 98 over the Des Moines River, 1.5 miles south of the Iowa 16/Iowa 98 junction, and between the cities of Douds and Leando in Van Buren County.

The public is invited to attend the meeting anytime between 5 and 6:30 p.m. at the Van Buren Elementary School, 14574 Jefferson St. in Douds.  

This public information meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format.  Iowa DOT staff will be present to informally discuss the proposed improvement. No formal presentation will be made.  

Traffic on Iowa 98 will be maintained during construction.
