Temporary ramp closures on I-29 at Singing Hills Boulevard in Sioux City begin Sept. 6
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Sept. 5, 2012 – Placement of overhead sign trusses on Interstate 29 at Singing Hills Boulevard near exit 143 in Sioux City will require temporary ramp closures after 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City construction office. Traffic will be returned to normal at 1 a.m. the following morning.
Temporary ramp closures will occur on:
- Southbound I-29 exit ramp to Singing Hills Boulevard from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Motorists will be routed through a detour.
- East- and westbound U.S. 20 entrance ramps to southbound I-29 in 20-minute intervals.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
