Update – Work continues on the Cedar Creek bridge on Iowa 92 between Delta and Sigourney

Posted on: September 27, 2012

SIGOURNEY, Iowa – Sept. 27, 2012 – Work continues on a bridge deck overlay project on the Cedar Creek bridge on Iowa 92 between Delta and Sigourney according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sigourney maintenance garage.

The bridge project was expected to be completed by Oct. 8, but needed repairs to the bridge deck were found to be more extensive than originally identified. The existing detour of routing traffic through Sigourney on Iowa 149 and Iowa 21 will be maintained until the project is completed.

This project is expected to be completed by Nov. 20, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
