Temporary ramp closure scheduled for southbound U.S. 218/Iowa 27 at exit 45 in Mount Pleasant begins Oct. 23


MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – Oct. 18, 2012 – A pavement patching project on southbound U.S. 218/Iowa 27 (exit 45) off-ramp on the north side of Mount Pleasant will require closing the ramp from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mount Pleasant construction office.

During this ramp closure, motorists are asked to travel south on U.S. 218/Iowa 27 and use exit 42 to travel back to exit 45.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
