Flashing yellow light in operation east of New London on U.S. 34/Iowa 163 beginning Nov. 29

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – Nov. 27, 2012 – A flashing yellow light has been installed and will be operational beginning Friday, Nov. 29, at the east entrance to New London alerting motorists on Des Moines Henry Avenue to use caution when approaching the intersection of U.S. 34/Iowa 163 and Des Moines Henry Avenue (Henry County Road X-30), according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mount Pleasant construction office.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
