Posted on: April 30, 2013

DAVENPORT, Iowa – April 30, 2013 – A bridge replacement project on Iowa 130 over Sugar Creek near Tipton will require closing the roadway to traffic between Iowa 38 and Cedar County Road X-64 beginning Monday, May 6, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office.

Motorists will be detoured around the road closure by using Iowa 38, U.S. 30 and Cedar County Road X-64. A 16-foot width lane restriction will be in place with a 12-foot paved lane and 4-foot rock shoulder on the detour route.

This project is expected to be completed by mid-August.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
