Section of Iowa 14 in Butler and Grundy Counties to Close May 6 #iatraffic

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – April 29, 2013 – Concrete overlay work for the second phase of a road construction project on Iowa 14 will require closing the roadway between Grundy County Road D-19 (just north of U.S. 20) and Iowa 57 (near Parkersburg in Butler County) beginning Monday, May 6, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Marshalltown construction office.

Motorists should follow the signed detour route during the closure.

This project is expected to be completed by late June.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
