Public Input Requested for Proposed Bridge Replacement on U.S. 69 in Hancock County
AMES, Iowa – May 30, 2013 – The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input on the proposed bridge replacement on U.S. 69 over the East Branch Iowa River, 0.6 mile south of Hancock County Road B-55.
The project provides for replacing the existing bridge with a continuous concrete slab bridge that is 150 feet by 40 feet. Approximately 1,000 feet of roadway will be reconstructed to be 24 feet wide. The reconstructed roadway will have 8-foot wide shoulders. New bridge approaches will be constructed and existing guardrail will be replaced.
Through traffic on U.S. 69 will be detoured during construction using Hancock County roads B-63, R-56 and B-55.
