NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – July 17, 2013 – As part of the northbound Interstate 380 reconstruction project, the River Forest Road northbound on-ramp to I-380 (exit 70) will be closed beginning at 12:01 a.m. Monday, July 22, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.

The River Forest Road on-ramp will be closed for approximately seven weeks to allow for reconstruction work in the on-ramp area. There will not be a detour established for this closure. The entire I-380 reconstruction project is expected to be completed by mid-September, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.

The site includes project details, corridor facts, a project timeline, emergency detour routes, and photos of the project area and construction activities.
