Lane restrictions on U.S. 63 north of Waterloo begin Tuesday #iatraffic
NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – Aug. 30, 2013 – Construction of right turn lanes will require restricting traffic to the inside north- and southbound lanes of U.S. 63 at the intersection with Black Hawk County Road C-57, two miles north of Waterloo. The project is expected to begin Tuesday, Sept. 3, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.
Motorists wishing to travel on Black Hawk County Road C-57 will be asked to follow the marked detour route as C-57 will be closed east and west of U.S. 63.
This project will be completed by early October.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
