NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – Aug. 21, 2013 – U.S. 63 will reopen to traffic from West Schrock Road (Black Hawk County Road D-35) at the south end of Hudson to U.S. 20 Thursday, Aug. 22, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.
Concrete pavement and grading work will continue on U.S. 63 south of West Schrock Road (Black Hawk County Road D-35) in Hudson, and the following detours are in place.
This project will be completed by early to mid-September.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
