AMES, Iowa – Sept. 27, 2013 – Road construction work on westbound Interstate 235 at the 63rd Street interchange (exit 4) in Windsor Heights will now require closing the westbound entrance ramp beginning 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, until approximately Friday, Oct. 18, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Des Moines construction office. The closure had been scheduled to close Monday, Sept. 30.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
