Dickinson County celebrates reopening of Iowa 86 #iatraffic

CHEROKEE, Iowa – Nov. 20, 2013 – Iowa 86 will reopen to traffic at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, from the intersection with Iowa 9 north to the Minnesota state line, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cherokee construction office.
To celebrate the completion of the $7.4 million road construction project, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, near the Iowa and Minnesota state line at the Iowa 86 and 100th Street intersection in Dickinson County. Iowa 86 will remain open during the event.
This section of Iowa 86 had been closed since April 2013. Cedar Valley Corp. of Waterloo was the project contractor.
