Iowa Transportation Commission approves grant for Altoona

AMES, Iowa – Nov. 12, 2013 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Immediate Opportunity grant application submitted by the city of Altoona. Up to $228,308 will be made available to assist in the construction of approximately 436 feet of Adventureland Drive Northeast. This project is anticipated to be completed by July 2014.
These improvements are necessary to provide access to Dayton Freight Lines Inc., a trucking terminal, and will support the creation of 35 new jobs along with $4,922,200 in associated capital investment.
Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the RISE Fund.
