Proposed concrete overlay on U.S. 65 in Lucas County to be discussed Dec. 10 in Humeston

AMES, Iowa – Nov. 26, 2013 – The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting Tuesday, Dec. 10, to discuss the proposed concrete overlay on U.S. 65 from the Wayne and Lucas county line north to U.S. 34. The improvement also includes pavement widening, partial shoulder paving, and updating guardrail.

All interested persons are invited to attend this public meeting anytime between 5 and 6:30 p.m. in the Commons Area, Mormon Trail Elementary School, 403 S. Front St., in Humeston. The meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format. Iowa DOT staff and the selected contractor for this project will be present to informally discuss the proposed improvements. No formal presentation will be made.

Traffic would be detoured during a portion of construction using U.S. 34, Iowa 14, and Iowa 2. (For more information, see the website listed below.)
