AMES, Iowa – Nov. 7, 2013 – The westbound Interstate 235 exit ramp at the 73rd Street interchange (exit 3) is scheduled to reopen to traffic Tuesday, Nov. 19, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Des Moines construction office.
Road construction work will continue on the westbound I-235 auxiliary lane project in Windsor Heights until early December when all lanes will be open.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
