Proposed widening and resurfacing on U.S. 169 in Kossuth County to be discussed March 13 in Lakota
AMES, Iowa – Feb. 25, 2014 – The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting Thursday, March 13, to discuss the proposed widening and resurfacing on U.S. 169 in Kossuth County from the east junction with Iowa 9 north to the Minnesota state line. The project also includes repairing the approaches at the Blue Earth River bridge, updating bridge guardrail and installing subdrains.
All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting anytime between 5:30 and 7 p.m. at the Eagle Center, 401 Smith St., in Lakota. The meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format. Iowa DOT staff will be present to informally discuss the proposed improvement. No formal presentation will be made.
Traffic would be detoured during construction using Iowa 9, Kossuth County Road P-30 in Iowa; and in Minnesota, Martin County routes 53 and 8 and Faribault County Route 2. (For more information, see the website listed below.)
