JEFFERSON, Iowa – March 25, 2014 – Repair work on the mile-long bridge carrying Iowa 415 over Saylorville Reservoir will require closing the bridge and detouring traffic beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, March 31, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Jefferson construction office.

During this project, traffic will be detoured around the bridge using Iowa 415, Northwest 26th Street, Polk County Road R-6F (Northwest 66th Avenue), and Northwest Beaver Drive. This $300,000 project is expected to be completed prior to the Memorial Day weekend.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
