SIOUX CITY, Iowa – April 30, 2014 – Northbound Interstate 29 at the I-29/I-129/U.S. 20 interchange will close at 10 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes on Monday, May 5, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City construction office.
This closure will allow workers to install an overhead sign truss. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to find alternative routes. Traffic may back up beyond the limits of the work zone and motorists should be prepared to come to a complete stop. Law enforcement officers will be present to assist with this temporary road closure.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
