Southbound I-380 lane restrictions at I-380/U.S. 218/U.S. 20 interchange near San Marnan Drive in Black Hawk County begin June 1 #iatraffic
NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – May 30, 2014 – The next phase of road construction work on southbound Interstate 380 and U.S. 218 near Evansdale will require restricting traffic from two lanes to one lane on the ramp from southbound I-380/U.S. 218 to southbound I-380 and east- and westbound U.S. 20 beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday, June 1, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.
Motorists should be alert for the possibility of slow or stopped traffic when approaching this area. To avoid congestion, the Iowa DOT advises drivers to consider alternate routes. There will be a 16-foot width lane restriction in the open lane.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
