Posted on: May 22, 2014

INDIANOLA, Iowa – May 22, 2014 – The city of Indianola has announced that a grading and intersection improvement project on U.S. 65/U.S. 69 from just south of Hillcrest Avenue north 0.75 mile in Indianola will require restricting traffic to one lane in each direction (at times) starting Tuesday, May 27, weather permitting.

Road construction work on this improvement project will require restricting traffic in the southbound U.S. 65/U.S. 69 lanes to one lane at times. Northbound U.S. 65/U.S. 69 traffic will be restricted to one lane during the majority of the project. The lane restrictions will be in place until mid-November.

This project is being led by the city of Indianola, which hired Snyder and Associates Inc. to oversee this project on the Iowa Department of Transportation’s highway system. The contractor for this project is Concrete Technologies Inc., in Urbandale, Iowa.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
