Emergency lane closure in effect on Iowa 12 north of Sioux City #iatraffic
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – July 29, 2014 – Due to an embankment slide along Iowa 12 north of Sioux City, an emergency lane closure is in effect until further notice, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 office.
Temporary traffic control signals will be in place beginning this afternoon to assist motorists through the work zone. The DOT is developing a repair project to address the issue.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
