DES MOINES, Iowa – July 23, 2014 – Railroad crossing repairs on Iowa 28 just south of Railroad Avenue will require closing Iowa 28 between Railroad Avenue and Lincoln Street in West Des Moines beginning  at 5 a.m. Monday, July 28, until Monday, Aug. 11, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 1 Office in Ames.

Motorists should follow the marked detour routes (Railroad Avenue, South 11th Street, and Lincoln Street) during this closure.
