Lane closure on Southern Hills Drive in Sioux City begins Monday #iatraffic
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – July 29, 2014 – Bridge repair work on the bridge over U.S. 20 on Southern Hills Drive will require a lane closure in each direction beginning Monday morning, Aug. 4, until late-September, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City construction office.
During the bridge repair project, there will be one 12-foot width open lane on the bridge and a temporary traffic control signal will be in place to assist motorists through the work zone.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
