Nighttime closures on westbound Iowa 100 from I-380 to Edgewood Road begin Sunday, Sept. 21 #iatraffic
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Sept. 17, 2014 – A pavement repair and overlay project will require closing westbound Iowa 100 between Interstate 380 and Edgewood Road in Cedar Rapids overnight. The closures are scheduled for Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning beginning Sunday, Sept. 21, until Friday, Oct. 10, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cedar Rapids construction office.
Traffic impact
- Traffic on westbound Iowa 100 will be detoured to the northbound I-380 on-ramp, then to Blairs Ferry Road, and then back to Edgewood Road.
- Traffic on northbound I-380 will be detoured to Blairs Ferry Road (exit 24B) to get to Edgewood Road.
- Traffic on southbound I-380 will be detoured to Blairs Ferry Road (exit 24) to get to Edgewood Road.
- Traffic on Center Point Road will need to go north to Blairs Ferry Road to get to Edgewood Road.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
