Court Street to be closed north of Gordon Drive in Sioux City on Nov. 23 #iatraffic

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Nov. 21, 2014 – Court Street will be closed north of Gordon Drive to allow placement of pavement on Gordon drive from the Gordon Drive viaduct west to Court Street beginning at approximately 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 Office in Sioux City.

During the pavement activities, traffic will be detoured using Nebraska Street to Third Street, then to Virginia Street, then to Dace Avenue, then to Court Street, and then back to Gordon Drive (see map).

After the paving work is completed Sunday, traffic will be redirected using Nebraska Street to Third Street, then to Court Street, and then back to Gordon Drive (see map).

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
