Nighttime closure on southbound Edgewood Road at Iowa 100 set for Nov. 11 #iatraffic

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Nov. 7, 2014 – Temporary concrete rail installation will require closing southbound Edgewood Road at Iowa 100 to North River Boulevard in Cedar Rapids beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cedar Rapids construction office.

During this closure, traffic should use either Ushers Ferry Road or the road running parallel to the interstate between Blairs Ferry Road and 42nd Street as the alternate routes to get to 42nd Street and then south on Edgewood Road.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
