U.S. 69 south of Belmond now open to traffic #iatraffic

BRITT, Iowa – Jan. 29, 2015 – Replacement of a bridge south of Belmond on U.S. 69 is complete and the roadway is now open to traffic, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Britt construction office. The detour has been removed and the bridge was opened last night.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
