Eastbound I-80 ramp closure at U.S. 65 near Altoona begins at 11 p.m. March 29 #iatraffic
DES MOINES, Iowa – March 27, 2015 – Ramp reconstruction work will require closing the eastbound Interstate 80 exit ramp to U.S. 65/U.S. 6/Hubbell Avenue (exit 142) near Altoona beginning at 11 p.m. Sunday, March 29, until Thursday, May 21, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Des Moines construction office.
Motorists traveling from eastbound I-80 to Hubbell Avenue will follow the signed detour.
When this exit ramp work is complete and opened to traffic, the eastbound I-80 entrance ramp will be closed from approximately May 26 until the end of August. The detour for this work is the same as above, except in reverse.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
