Lane closures and traffic shift on northbound I-35 in Decatur County begins April 16 #iatraffic
CHARITON, Iowa – April 10, 2015 – As part of the reconstruction of northbound Interstate 35, traffic will be shifted from northbound lanes to southbound I-35 in a two-lane, two-way pattern from just south of the Iowa 2 interchange (exit 12) to just north of Decatur County Road J-14 (Van Wert) interchange (exit 22) beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Chariton construction office.
This project is expected to be completed by late summer 2015.
Flynn Co. Inc. was awarded the $16.65 million contract for this project.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
