North River Boulevard at Ushers Ferry Road in Cedar Rapids will close for construction April 16 #iatraffic
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – April 13, 2015 – Road construction work on Iowa 100 in Cedar Rapids requires closing North River Boulevard at Ushers Ferry Road beginning at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa DOT’s Cedar Rapids construction office.
Traffic impact
Traffic on North River Boulevard will have full access to Edgewood Road.
Traffic on Ushers Ferry Road will be restricted to one lane between Oak Creek Drive and North River Boulevard with traffic controlled by traffic signals. Oak Creek Drive will also have a traffic signal in place.
Ushers Ferry Road will be constructed one-half at a time south of North River Boulevard during the closure period. When this work is complete, North River Boulevard will open to Ushers Ferry Road to the south, the signals will be removed, and then Ushers Ferry will close completely between North River Boulevard and Blairs Ferry Road.
This first stage of work should be completed by the end of May.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
