Iowa 92 in and west of Indianola to close Monday, July 20 for reconstruction #iatraffic

CHARITON, Iowa – July 15, 2015 – A pavement reconstruction project on Iowa 92 from west of Warren County Road R-57 (Kennedy Street) to east of N Street in Indianola requires closing the roadway to traffic from Monday, July 20, until fall 2015, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Chariton construction office.

Traffic will be maintained for local residents living along Iowa 92 within the construction zone. Motorists will be detoured around the construction zone using U.S. 65/U.S. 69 in Indianola and Iowa 5 and Iowa 28 through Norwalk and Martensdale.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
