DES MOINES, Iowa – Aug 20, 2015 – A crash involving a tractor-trailer hauling gasoline has caused the closure of the right lane of westbound Interstate 80 at mile marker 139, between the I-35/I-235 mixmaster and U.S. 65 (exit 141) near Altoona, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.

For your safety and ease of travel, please avoid the area and allow hazardous materials teams to address the gasoline spill. At this time, it is expected the closure will last through the afternoon commute. We will provide notice when the lane has been reopened and traffic returned to normal.
