SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Aug. 20, 2015 – Intersection reconstruction work will require the closing U.S. 59 at the west junction of U.S. 20 near Holstein, in Ida County, at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 office.
Eastbound U.S. 20 to northbound U.S. 59 traffic will be required to follow a signed detour south on Indorf Avenue to German Avenue, and then to U.S. 20/59. The detour is scheduled to be in place for three weeks.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones.
